Kim was an accomplished jeweler when she first met Frank in 1975. Master Italian Goldsmith Alexander Bongiorno recognized their desire and raw talent when inviting Kim (1971) and Frank (1975) as his personal apprentices. Frank and Kim married each other in 1979.
Embarking together on a mission to design and manufacture custom-made jewelry, Yanke Designs opened for business in 1981. By 1989, they settled in Franklin Village, where their store, Yanke Designs, is a well-known destination for people seeking one-of-a-kind jewelry to mark an engagement, wedding, anniversary, birthday or other special occasions.
Today, Frank and Kim have relocated, bringing their business with them “Up North” to beautiful Traverse City, Michigan. Frank and Kim love everything the Grand Traverse area has to offer and look forward to the next chapter of Yanke Designs in Northern Michigan.

The Yanke Designs studio features 100% original designs created by the Kim and Frank.
In addition to a collection of jewelry available in the showroom, Yanke Designs also creates custom designs for the individual client. Every design springs from the shared vision of the designer and the client. Frank and Kim educate their clients on gem selection and walk them through the entire design process. The
