Sketching the Beginning
Long before something concrete starts to take shape, the concept you created with our designers comes to life in a two-dimensional space. Sketches are done with paper & pencil to start finding the curves, angles, and overall shapes that will make up your custom piece. Crafting your work of art always begins with a plan that has a solid foundation.
The Wax Model
One of the most common methods of making custom jewelry is to refine the design with a wax model. The base of the piece is designed in wax first, without the stones, and then put into a plaster mold. Then, the mold is heated, letting the wax melt away. What’s left is a mold that is ready to have gold, silver, or other metals poured into it to create jewelry.
Refining Your Custom Piece
Once your design has been set and cast, it’s ready for refinement. Clean-up is done to remove any excess from the mold and the piece goes through a pre-polishing stage, and then stones are fit and set into place. Finally, your custom jewelry is polished and made ready for you to enjoy for years to come.
